About the Career of Mr. Adam Huckaby

Mr. Adam Huckaby serves as the Technical Director for the DHS National Vetting Center. Adam’s combination of technical and analytic acumen, in conjunction with his strategic vision for the mission has resulted in the successful implementation of complex solutions advancing national security vetting capabilities. His portfolio includes technical development, enhancement, maintenance as well as acquisition and funding strategy for multiple government programs.

Adam’s extensive industry experience spans more than 20 years, including military, government, and commercial organizations. Prior to his current role, he served as the Chief Operating Officer, with an operating budget of more than $300 Million, at HIP Projects, LLC.
Adam served as the DHS Program Manager for the Intelligence Enterprise Cross Domain Solutions (IECDS). He oversaw a joint team that deployed more than thirty-two cross domain guards, to include integrating email, file drop, database replication and workflow/policy enforcement applications. These efforts led to the development of a first-of-its-kind system using inspection and transformation of data to lower the data risk. This involved coordination with I&A ISRMC for approval of system concept and security configurations; I&A CISO to ensure security compliance and implementation (ATO), I&A PCRCL (PTA’s and PIA’s) to ensure proper handling of PII, as well as incorporation of industry partners ensuring successful mission execution upon deployment.

Also, Mr. Huckaby held the position of Division Quality Assurance manager at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD). In this role he was responsible for the execution of the NSWCCD Quality Management System (QMS). He was responsible for developing policy, plans and procedures to measure, assess and advise on the overall technical health of NSWCCD via the NSWCCD QMS. During his tenure, Adam successfully achieved the DAWIA PQM Level II and PM Level II Certification and ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.

Adam has also enjoyed his time serving in the military as a Naval Flight Officer and an Operational Test Director.
When he is not at work, Adam actively volunteers as a mentor, a small group leader, and provides Pre-Marital/Marital Counseling for different organizations within his community, and roasts coffee as a hobby on the side.

Mr. Huckaby received a Master of Business Administration degree from the College of William and Mary, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy. He currently resides in Spring, Texas with his family.
