The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has made major progress in moving forward touchless screening initiatives at airports and other checkpoints. This a major strategic initiative that will not only have a major impact on TSA, CBP and DHS operations, but could be an important screening model for international partners. A series of successful pilots in Detroit, Las Vegas, Austin and Atlanta has proved this concept. Integration between TSA and CBP to make this a reality is an important part of this effort, as well as DHS's growing biometric capabilities. This type of innovation and use of technology will make travel safer for the public as well as TSA and CBP agents in the field.
