David K. Bain is Executive Vice President for Standards of Information Technology Standards at the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), providing vision and leadership to ITI’s ANSI-accredited standards organization, the InterNational Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS.org), which represents US stakeholders on the majority of ISO/IEC JTC1 global standards technical committees, including those for Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, and Internet of Things.
Before joining ITI in 2021, he was Executive Director of the Tech Integrity Council, a Washington, DC consortium for ethical standards in technology and VP of Standards for the Telecommunications Industry Association, prior to which he spent 25 years as a technology innovator, entrepreneur, and publisher. With an abiding interest in future technologies and their impact on society, David serves as an advisor to diverse tech startups, philanthropreneurs, and nonprofits involved in technology ethics and safety, and STEAM education.
